Oversized, plush and cosy, this cowl works as a standard cowl tucked in around your coat or – due to its size – you can also pull it right up as a perfect hood for extra warmth.

- Stolen Stitches ‘Nua’ (60% Merino, 20% Yak, 20% Linen; 153 yds / 140 m per 1.76 oz / 50 g); colour: Rolling Bales (9808) 6 skeins
Note: Cowl used exactly 5 skeins but to allow for different gauges & swatching it is advisable to get a sixth skein.
NEEDLES & NOTIONS
- US size 4 / 3.5 mm circular needles, 24″ / 60 cm long
Always use a needle size that gives you the gauge listed, as every knitter’s gauge is unique.
- Tapestry needle, cable needle (cn), stitch marker.
GAUGE
- 22 sts and 40 rows = 4″ / 10 cm in Garter Stitch
- 54 sts and 37 rows = 4″ / 10 cm in Cable 1
Note: The Large Cable causes the fabric to fold creating a tighter gauge.
