Berroco Vintage is a worsted-weight yarn made from 52% acrylic, 40% wool and 8% nylon, and it’s machine washable. You get wool’s warmth in something you can wash without a second thought. That’s why it’s a go-to for hats, scarves, shawls and everyday wear for kids and grown-ups. It comes in a wide range of solids and heathers.
What makers noticed
Knitters say it’s soft and easy to handle, and that it knits up evenly without splitting. One maker has made more than a dozen hats in it for her grandchildren and says it’s a comfortable wool blend to wear. Others have picked it for shawls and for a college-colors scarf.
Pro tip: Berroco gives two knitting gauges: 20 sts to 4 in on US 7, or 18 sts on US 8. Swatch to see which one your pattern calls for.
