Description

The slip-stitch color-work pattern in these mitts has the beneficial side effect of creating a thick, warm fabric. A slipped rib in the main color borders the houndstooth pattern, which is made by knitting two-round stripes of each color, slipping some stitches from the previous row. This is color-work at its simplest, and the mitts are a small enough project to make a stack of them for gifts, playing with different color combinations and keeping your favorites for yourself.

GAUGE4″ = 19 sts and 24 rows in Houndstooth Slip-Stitch Pattern on larger needlesNote: yarn shown usually knits at 16-18 sts to 4″ in Stocking Stitch
