Inspired completely by the stunning jewel tones in Tanis Fiber Arts’ Cosmic Blue Label yarn, Ultravioleta is an airy, feminine shawlette with just the right amount of sparkle and texture. The piece is knit from the top center down beginning with a garter tab cast on, after which regularly spaced increase rows create a semi- circular shape. Small bobbles are added to the lacey chevrons’ “points” and a garter stitch band defines the edging. The lace is simple, but involves patterning on both the right and wrong sides; written instructions and charts have both been provided to help the knitter stay on track.
The sample is knit with Tanis Fiber Arts Cosmic Blue Label Fingering(84% merino, 16% sparkling nylon), an alternative yarn is shown below.
